Beyond home base

Full-time or part-time nomads seek experiences; chances to be fully immersed in a new environment. A way to stimulate their senses. A chance to see things newly.

Why shouldn’t their accommodations amplify that? Help them feel like they’ve landed? Welcome them in with open arms? And...dare we say it...entice them to stay IN for the night?

Focused on helping boutique hotels, resorts, and unique short-term rental properties become more than a landing pad for people living the nomadic lifestyle, our Elevated Lodging Interior Design and Renovation services bring travellers home.

By updating tired rentals, we’re giving design-obsessed nomads and experience-conscious travellers space to thrive.

From fully designing and renovating a physical space (complete with turnkey solutions) to defining a cohesive brand and online presence for a property, putting together the most minute details to dialling in the community experience around your space...you’ll be the proud owner of a coveted destination that’s steadily booked - and makes the guests you host feel right at home.

TESTIMONIAL

"We were seeking the perfect blend of a designer who had a strong personal vision but also a great network of collaborators and creative partners for a unique, remote project that we constructed in house. Kyla's quick, vision-persistent and efficient communication allowed us the speed and flexibility we needed in this design/build project. Her design has been the most well received amongst all the cabin; her keen sense of style and design draw people in. We’ll surely work with her again!”

The landscape of accommodation has changed.

Where nomads used to book a place to stay to see a city, ‘destination accommodations’ have become a thing; where people see a city because they want to stay at a specific property.

Beyond cities, travellers will go out of their way—to the middle of nowhere—to stay at unique, inspiring, design-forward places.

Far from cliche, the saying rings true: If you build it, they will come.

How it works

Making the experience as easy (and enjoyable) as possible, we’ve reverse-engineered the design process to make the process less daunting and infuse it with ease, creativity, and connection.

Keeping your best interest as number one priority, and your guest experience top of mind through, here’s how our collaborative approach to our work together will flow:

Phase 1: Pre-Design

When we receive your inquiry, we dive in and get to know all about you + your property. From guest experience to the nuances of your community, the uniqueness of your space to the details of what needs the space should satisfy, through questionnaires and seeing what inspires you, the project’s direction begins to take shape.

Phase 2: Design

Backed by all the insight and inspiration you share, we take your goals, guest experience and service standards into consideration to define your design style - connecting the dots on the vision and direction for your space.

Phase 3: Documentation

Where the rubber hits the road: drawings are solidified, additional project partners (like contractors or graphic designers) are engaged - and everyone gets into action.

Phase 4: Putting It All Together

We The Nomads delivers your project. We’ll be right beside you as the puzzle pieces come together (unless you’re overseas), offering styling support where desired throughout the receiving and installation part of the process.

Phase 5: Wrap Up

Taking care of any last details, we do all the little things to make sure your guests can settle right in. Relax, you’ve made it to the finish line...and your guests are about to experience their new favourite home-away-from-home.
